Here is some wonderful propaganda from the 1990′s.  I thought this was a load of b.s. when I was a kid and it seems even more so now. I guess the fact that the oil being drilled out of the ground is not helping to transport goods such as food around the U.S. and other countries. Food that is created cheaper thanks to modern farm equipment that runs on diesel fuel. Better more beneficently grown food makes it cheaper and easier for people to afford.
